Like any good horror villain, Art the Clown is back. No, not for Terrifier 4 just yet. That’s down the road. Instead, the massive hit third installment Terrifier 3 is coming back to theaters on the days it was created for: Christmas Eve and Christmas, with a few extra treats for fans.
Select theaters will be showing the gross-out, unrated horror film on December 24 and 25 and tickets are on sale now. In addition to the gruesome, holiday-themed film, the re-release will have a special new intro from writer/director Damien Leone as well as the first look at an upcoming documentary called Art Attack: The Dissection of Terrifier 3, which will be released on Screambox in early 2025.
“We couldn’t be happier with Terrifier 3′s positive reception by existing and new fans alike, and we couldn’t think of a better way to ring in the holidays than to bring Damien’s masterpiece back to theaters as a gift to these fans,” Cineverse Chief Creative Officer Yolanda Macias said in a press release. “I can’t wait to celebrate both the season (and Terrifier 3 being the top non-rated movie in U.S. history!) on December 24.”
That last part, if you can believe it, is true. With its $53 million domestic gross, Terrifer 3 is the highest-grossing unrated movie in U.S. history. And though the film is currently available on VOD, with its physical release coming on December 17, seeing it in a theater really is the way to go. Especially since this third film is set around Christmas and features Art in the Santa suit for so much of it.
