Severance’s New Season 2 Trailer Puts the Work In

It’s been a looooooooooong time since the first season of Severance blew everyone’s minds, and it’s only been fairly recently that Apple’s pulled back the curtain on season two. With a little over a month to go, Apple premiered a fresh new trailer at CCXP, and it looks like the series hasn’t lost a step when it comes to being compelling and slightly unsettling.

Picking up in the immediate aftermath of season one, Mark S. (or is it Marcus…?) and his fellow Lumon Innies find themselves surprisingly not in trouble for becoming un-Severed. If anything, they’re celebrities at the company, but it’s impossible for them to bask in their new status. Now that they know about the Severance process, they want to dig even further into their Outie lives, even as Milchick and other Lumon higher-ups are ready to keep that from happening. And if they do get caught, it seems they’ll be hit with a fate worse than death: new coworkers.

This new Severance trailer is as trippy and threatening as the first one back in October—maybe even moreso since Ms. Cobel tells Mark in no certain terms that his quest to save Gemma/Ms. Casey won’t be a “honeymoon ending” for him. Other weird events to come appear to include a lotta goats, watermelon shaped like Irving’s head, stop-motion, and a dash of child labor? We also get brief, tantalizing looks at Alia Shawkat and Gwendoline Christie, two of the many new players that’ll be joining this season.

Severance season two begins on Friday, January 17, 2025 on Apple TV+, with a new episode dropping every week through March 21. And if this season gets a good turnout, it hopefully won’t be another three years for Apple to get a third season in your eyeballs.
